The East Village: that was then, this is now. The developer behind the MegaDorm proposal for Avenue B has gone back to the drawing board. The result, seen in the above artists' sketch from the Life Cafe corner on East 10th Street, reduces the dorm from 23 to 19 stories and preserves the facade of the 9th Street school building. The new architects? Brace yourself: Beyer Blinder Belle. Lots more to come on this as soon as we wipe the vomit off our keyboard.
