Jean Georges' Perry Street: Highway Chic

A Curbed reader reports on progress at the soon-to-open Perry Street restaurant from celebrated celebuchef Jean-Georges Vongrichten:

We walked by the three Richard Meier buildings on the West Side Highway last night and had a pleasant chat with a couple of workers in the new Jean-Georges restaurant opening in the middle tower [173-174 Perry Street] this weekend apparently. They said he was opening a restaurant there because he lived there (leading us to belive that he might whip up some eggs for us in the morning, if we also lived there). It's a lovely quiet room despite the West Side Highway traffic zipping by very very close-by, with three HUGE circular booths for foodies and their posses.
