Curbed BuildingSpotter: Gates Double Take in 'WeVil'
Wednesday, February 1, 2006, by Jeremy

In search of this week's BuildingSpotter, we did a double take on the thumbnail for this West Village facade shot, thinking for a split second that it looked an awful lot like a slice of Christo's Gates. Perhaps it's just that time of the yearthough this February dawns sans saffron. Still, a pretty cool shade of wood on those portals to aid your guessesto be deposited, bien sur, in the comments below: Where is this exactly? How much did it cost? Is it a home, a gallery, a private club, all three? And whose leg is that?

its a goregous goregous building!
I think it is Leroy, actually. I recall it was on the market 2 summers ago... Is amazing inside, with zen garden outside. I also beleive Leonardo rented it when he was in town filming.. if memory serves me right.

It is Leroy b/w Bleecker and Bedford. II think there was a profile in the Times some time ago AND I think it was even linked on curbed!!
Haven't I seen this featured in Dwell, Metropolitan Home or something like that? I'm sure of it...
13 Leroy St. Where Will Smith lived while filming Hitch. The dude is working on the lock.
I live across the street from this single unit home on Leroy St. Who ever lives here must be pretty loaded, and own places elsewhere. They've only been around for a few weeks since I moved in around August. How do I know this? Well, the security gaurd who sleeps in his car outside all night is a dead give away ---no joke
Didn't Will Smith stay in DUMBO during the filming of hitch? Anyway, I think this is in fact the building on Leroy.
Yes, lupe is correct. I have been inside for two different parties and the place is incredible. Totally opened up, with a glass wall on the back side facing a little garden with a fish pond. The ground floor has a glass-covered channel fed from the pond and the fish swim in! So you can stand on the floor over water and look down on fish! It's actually cool.
i think anyone in the nabe knows this joint on leroy off bleeker. it was a long construction project - gut and rebuild job lasting a good year+. they've got an elevator and all kinds of niceties.
That's Andrew Rasiej's house on Leroy Street for sure.
