Am I the only one who is COMPLETELY freaked out by the idea of yet another MSG in another Penn Station? Isn't anyone else seeing the historical parallels here? Beautiful historic building? Hideous profit-driven architectural blight of a sports arena? HIgh rise development in its place? Besides, didn't the Dolan's just get through telling all of NYC how we don't need a new sports venue? Doesn't anyone remember their opposition to the West Side Stadium? Can't Bloomberg at least stomp on them the way they stomped on him?

MT, no youre not. We have discussed this before. One difference (hopefully a critical one) is that it will not be built on top of Penn Station. Still pretty silly and scary though.

While the Landmarks Preservation Committee still waits on their decision for 122 Greenwich St, those lovers of important contemporary art can voice their opinions on the matter by sending the commissioner a message in favor of the wavy glass masterpiece that could rise on the border of The West Village (on a blighted parking lot no less). I’ve voiced my approval, please do your part as well

Looking up 8th Avenue from dowtown, the Hearst Building looks like silver lightning strike, truly amazing. With the right light it looks like a massive Chrysler Building crown.
