Adventures in Real Estate Pronunciation: Jumeirah

The rebranding of the Essex House Hotel on Central Park South (under new ownership from Dubai) as the Jumeirah Essex House presents some challenges for the provincial Western tongue. How do you pronounce that? Our best guess is "Joo-mare-ah," although it could be "Joo-meer-ah." Any ideas?

its the first, "joo-mare-ah"
joo-meir-ah, as it is Arabic
It's ju-meer-ah. I was working on a story about the company for the recently departed Absolute magazine. You'll be hearing more from them soon -- the company plans to open 40 hotels over the next five years, and it's part of the Sheikh of Dubai's personal holdings company...
I wanna be part of the Sheikh of Dubai's personal holdings.
I used to live in Dubai, in Jumeirah Beach. Joo-mare-ah is close, but you'd soften the "joo" to a "juh" and the accent's on the second syllable.
