We don't generally do music vids, but this is the We Are the Pool video produced by PoolAid and it's about McCarren Pool, which by definition makes it about Greenpoint and Williamsburg, historic preservation and, of course, hipsters. PoolAid wants free shows at the pool and for the facility to eventually become a, you know, pool again. The free summer concerts, of course, were revealed last week.

How about we do Hipster Aid - get them all to stand inside the pool under the pretense that it's the best place to hear the music, and then fill it in with quicksand. Now that's a nice thought..
this is beyond shooting fish in a barrel. this is "fish jumps out of barrel and rolls itself into sushi while you feel vaguely sorry for it." i feel especially bad for Aaron Lazar. hasn't he suffered enough?
Seriously - when this year's Of Motreol show is happening in McArron Pool, they should just take a bulldozer and push all of the hipsters into a giant vat of cement. Then they sohuld use that cement to build more condos. That way, the hipsters won't ever have to leave their beloved neighborhood, and you get moer former-Upper Montclair, NJ families!
I think it's great that folks came together to bring attention to McCarren pool. It's sad that attention's going to hipster bashing instead of saving a public community resource from potential corporatization.
This is a shitty song and vid put together by the dregs of the Williamsburg talent pool. It’s interesting how blogs find content to satisfy their preconceived notions about others. Just like that sitcom “The Burg” which the straight press loved to talk about. This will not be watched by any Brooklyn-based artists, but it will be discussed by yuppie ruberneckers.
