Wild Turkey Roaming Streets of West Village

Turkey! Thanks to the special West Village correspondent who sent in the photo and reports:

A wild turkey was hanging out in the Time Landscape on Houston and
LaGuardia Place at about 9:30 a.m. this morning. She (I think) managed to jump the fence as I was taking pictures of her. She then started strolling east on Houston, perhaps to do some shopping. Some good samaritans ran interference so she wouldn't attempt to cross the road. At noon I saw her in a tree on W. 3rd St. just east of LaGuardia Place.
We don't know if it's related to the Battery Park turkey, but we're glad to know it's okay.

There is a poster on Prince Street - not sure if is for real - claiming that the wild turkey is called Herbert and the owner is looking for him. It had a phone number to call.

The turkey was in Washington Square Park Saturday June 2 at 6 AM. Totally nonchalant, blasé city turkey.

Oh, you guys are so stupid. Turkeys don't have money. They're homeless! Therefore, they can't shop.

This turkey was walking down Greenwich St on June 2, with a member of the NYC Bomb Squad following behind. I had just been out of town when I looked to my right and saw the turkey walking next to me...and the bomb squad guy. That's when I knew I was really home. Last seen turning right on Christopher.
