CurbedWire: Tribeca Gets Soapy, More Madison Speculation
Tuesday, September 25, 2007, by Joey

TRIBECAPhase 2 of the "Pearline Soap Atelier" (above) development on Washington between Vestry and Laight (across from the Riverlofts development) is moving forward rapidly. Phase 1 is fully standing and brickwork appears to be complete and Phase 2 concrete pouring is moving forward very quickly. I don't know if you guys have covered this development yet." FLATIRONMoreyes, moreon One Madison Park and its potentially blocked views: "This is factually incorrect. SL Green owns the air rights surrounding the clock tower which has protected views due to its designation as a National Historic Landmark. As such, no development can be created that would affect the One Madison Park views." As such, attention shifts back onto 11 Madison and its scary original plan. [CurbedWire Inbox]
Flatiron commenter is clueless on both points.
Air rights for clocktower building has nothing to do with air rights on an adjacent, separately owned site.
Also, National Historic Landmark designation has nothing to do with protected views.
Lomabardi is the worst cowboy operator out there.
He was humiliated at the BSA who almost laughed his team out of the room when applying fro a variance on these projects.
His finance guy was caught cooking the apartment sale values by using 30-35% less in the "hardship plea" than market rates. There were dozens of stop-work orders put on the sites which they ignored most of the time.
His next project is 401 Washington and 422 Greenwich which his client paid nearly $650 buildable foot! Good luck getting a variance on that project Joe!
Whats up with the crossed eyed perspective?
