CurbedWire: One Ten 3rd Goes 'Third World,' 11 Spring Gets Recalculated, More Condos on Burg's N. 3rd

EAST VILLAGE—This rant about our friend One Ten 3rd came to us with the subject line "110 Third World," which gives an indication of what is to come: "Good God – I was driving up Third Ave this morning and couldn’t believe what a refugee camp 110 Third looks like. The combinations of temporary blinds, newspaper, toilet paper, flannel shirts and KFC bags trying to cover the windows was simply shocking! Sure it’s a condorminium but c’mon already." Too soon to blame the renters, though. [CurbedWire Inbox]

2007_10_11Spring.jpgNOLITA—On the square footage front, a tipster does some recalculation of the math on a $6.7 million apartment at 11 Spring Street and concludes that "it would be a whopping $3200 at the cited 2085 square feet. But it gets worse when one realizes that the unit is considerably smaller. Just look at the floorplan. A generous measurement would yield something more like 1200 square feet. Wow! A sucker is born everyday in the Manhattan real estate market." [CurbedWire Inbox]

WILLIAMSBURG—There is more activity on the very active block of N. 3rd Street between Berry and Wythe that is home to the Mill Building and to the new-to-market 100 N3 Lofts. A tipster reports that a renovation of 103 N. 3rd is now underway, which will add 41 units to the N. 3rd Street condo pool. [CurbedWire Inbox]

New York get ready: there will be a whole lot of 110 East Thirds coming our way - all these new glass and steel condos will feature junk put into the windows without regard to people who have to view this mundane garbage from the street

ok..so if it is built 2300 sq ft and you take out the elevator and stairs it is closer to 2000. since the elevator opens directly into the unit you may be able to include it in sq footage count.

I was considering purchasing in that building, with pre-construction prices starting at $750,000. So glad I didn't. I suspect the adjoining boarded up stores will soon be demolished to make room for another high-rise, blocking views of north facing apartments. Hopefully, it won't be another glass tower.

Personally, I'm not much of a Government regulations guy, but jeesh. These ugly fucking are buildings built out of nothing but aluminum studs and drywall. You can hear EVERYTHING your neighbors do... Yeah, yeah. Buyer beware, but fucking jeesh?

Oh please, I wasn't born yesterday!!
Just look at the floor plan measures on the NYTimes website for the $6.7m Spring St unit. At most it would be 1400 sq.ft. I don't care what falsehoods they filed with the city!

I love looking into people's windows on how they've laid their apt out.

Here's an idea (for free): MyNYCApt.com where you can upload a pic of your place and view others. Perfect voyeurism.

re: 110 Third. Get a load of this: s rental for the princely sum of $6,200 whose living room window seems to be a lot line window, looking smack into an entire building wall!

Have you checked out the new Ian Schrager condos on Gramery Park North? Pretty much the same thing as Third Avenue. These glassy residential buildings can be a real blight! U. Designer

at least the guy eating his breakfast at 110 this morning was sitting at his table with clothes on - every time I look at it on my way to the subway I can't believe people spent that kind of money to put themselves on display like zoo animals

If I woke up to see a post-it attached to the window over my head, I would blow my brains out. But that's just me...

Just goes to show you that money don't buy good taste. NY is full of low class fools who have no qualms about living like dogs in a store window.

afraid you're a bit out of line...in the "third world" people actually have taste.
