Coney Island Redo is Coming Along

Finally, a Coney Island story that is not about redevelopment, zoning or Thor Equities. It is about next year's I Heart Brooklyn Girls calendar and it's billed as "the only queer femme swimsuit calendar in the U.S. of A." Go, Coney Island.

My best friend is Miss October. I'm not even joking...it's a really great calendar and they threw a kickass party for it.

What I don't get is gay men typically uphold a classical ideal of male beauty, whereas gay women seem to cling to a self indulgent and decadent vision of female beauty. Most of these women are ugly, and this calender will be forgotten in a decade let alone a millennium.

Actually, the artistic vision of beauty in this femme calendar is a lot less shallow than a merely "classical beauty" theme could ever embrace. These women are hot! Now if they only had *names*...we'd be getting somewhere.
