Megadeveloper Harry Macklowe has figured out one quick way to ease some of that debt burden that threatens to tear his empire apart: selling the GM Building on Fifth Avenue. Macklowe paid $1.4 billion for the office tower in 2003, but he'll most likely get at least double that amount now, thanks to his rent-jacking. Will Steve Jobs buy the building and turn it into a giant extension of his glass cube out on the plaza? No. Should he? Yes. Oh God, yes! [The Real Estate; previous Macklowe]
