In a city where the most minor construction and renovation jobs drag on forever, the Washington Square Park renovation is threatening to break the land speed record. When we last checked in on the storied fountainto be nudged 23 feet and aligned with the archsome big machines were advancing. Now, as seen in a snazzy aerial Flickr photo set chronicling the work at the park, the old fountain area is but dirt and piping. How many times can a man turn his head, pretending he just doesn't see? The answer, Greenwich Villagers, is blowin' in the wind. The answer is blowin' in the wind.
