Our search for something modern-looking amongst the old dandies of Central Park South led us to this duplex co-op in the Gainsborough, the 16-story, 34-unit building originally built to house artist studios. The lack of big, gorgeous windows overlooking Central Park was a design flourish not lost upon the commenters, many of whom guessed in the 3s. The first correct guess came early, via Anonymous: "I think I know this building. If I'm right, the exterior has always been an architectural fave of mine, but I've never been inside. It's CPS, so I'll guess absurdly high at $4,200,000."
