There was a meeting last night about the next park Greenpoint will be getting and it's looking like construction will start next year and the $10-$12 million park at the foot of Greenpoint Avenue at the East River will be done in 2010ish. It's working name is "Transmitter Park" because it was the site of WNYC's transmitter and the park will eventually include a fishing pier. The "bird islands" planned for the river, however, are out because they'd bad for fish. [NYShitty]
