Harlem's Hughes House Doesn't Sell

The beauty and history of Harlem's Langston Hughes House was not enough to entice buyers. Harlem Bespoke notes that the house at 20 East 127th Street, listed at $1.2 million, is now off the market. Their take: "At the open house over the summer, there were quite a few folks looking at the property. Once inside the house, the detail-rich interior was apparent but so was the amount of work needed to get it up and going again. Another factor is that the house was also technically in East Harlem, albeit in a prime section off of 5th Avenue." [Harlem Bespoke]
