Celebrity Real Estate Wrap: When Harry Met Michelle

1) Boy wizard (man wizard?) Daniel Radcliffe created quite the stir when he scooped up an apartment in Jean Nouvel's 40 Mercer in Soho for $4.3 million, even though his people said he never planned on living there. But now that Harry Potter has bought a 2,450-square-foot 3BR home at 1 Morton Square—home to the Olsen twins, Will Arnett and Amy Poehler and others—will the superfans start sleeping on the sidewalks of the West Village to get a glimpse? Above, a photo gallery from the since-removed $4.9 million Stribling listing. [Big Deal/Josh Barbanel]

2) Heiresses and models usually wind up in hipper locales than 57th Street, but in the case of Lydia Hearst, she's sticking close to the family business. The 23-year-old bought a $1.49 million condo on a high floor at Sheffield57, right next door to Sir Norman Foster's Hearst headquarters/DNA strain. Hopefully she's not a light sleeper. PriceSpotter Big Reveal: Water Water Everywhere

Location: 1 Morton Square
Asking: $3,495,000

We were a little cagey on the location of this Far West Village 2BR, 2.5BA condo with Hudson River views galore. That's because we didn't want to make it completely obvious that it is in 1 Morton Square, where the Olsen twins are also trying to unload some property. Does the Olsen factor drive up the price? Perhaps, because most guesses were way low, in the mid-two-millions. An anonymous commenter down at #14 guessed correctly, and was rather confident about it. Suspicious! Maybe we're traditionalists, but we don't see the fun in not playing by the rules.

On the Market: Olsens Try Again at One Morton Square

2007_11_olsen1.jpg

Those lovable Olsen twins never lived inside their massive 1 Morton Square penthouse in the Far West Village, but the 5,700-square-foot apartment has seen more action than an entire season of Full House. Mary Kate and Ashley tried to flip the Hudson-facing home—made up of several combined units—not long after its completion, but they pulled it off the market and have been renting it out since. Now, the Observer's Max Abelson reports that the Olsens are trying to sell it again, upping the asking price to $11.995 million, or $4,695,000 more than they paid three years ago. Easily enough, the old Stribling link to the 2005 listing now leads to the new one (Corcoran's Jared Seligman also has the listing). Noticeable changes: the "Crown Jewel Penthouse at 1 Morton Square" is now the "Trophy Penthouse," and there's a new-look floorplan!
