Curbed PriceChopper: Not Quite New on West 21st Street

Then: $8,200,000
Now: $7,495,000
You Save!: $705,000

Late last week, a Brown Harris Stevens listing popped up for a massive full-floor loft at 31 West 21st Street, in the Flatiron/Chelsea border zone. The price is $7,495,000, and the listing reads: "Newly released from the Sponsor and priced to sell at $1,587 per square foot." Newly released, you don't say? Not according to an eagle-eyed Curbed tipster, who writes: "Ummm, I looked at that apartment 6 months ago and it was listed for $8.2 million. I don’t mind the take it off the market and re-list tactic so people don’t see how long it’s actually languished on the market but the outright lie is just absolutely amazing." Whether that's the case or not, we'd still love to call this 4,720sqft space home. 57' x 52' living rooms don't grow on trees, after all.
· Listing: 31 West 21st Street [BHS]
