Celebrity Real Estate Wrap: Paulifer Ditching Brooklyn!

It wasn't so long ago that countless trend pieces were filed about the celebrity migration to Brooklyn. When Hollywood's hot young things wanted to settle down and Get Serious, brownstone Brooklyn offered faux-privacy and tree-lined blocks in which to raise their brood. But first Heath Ledger tragically bailed for Soho and now a Brooklyn postercouple appears to be leaving for a stereotypical celebrity 'hood as well. The $6,995,000 penthouse at 288 West Street that recently sold was scooped up by Paul Bettany and Jennifer Connelly, according to Curbed sources. The 4,000-square-foot Tribeca loft has a drop-dead-gorgeous private roof deck, and while leaving Park Slope must have been a tough decision, the recent $995,000 pricechop on this apartment probably made it a bit easier. Are Sarsgaard and Gyllenhaal next?!

Celebrity Real Estate Wrap: Conehead's Castle

2007_12_aykroyd.jpg1) SNL alum Dan Aykroyd spends most of his time nowadays on the West Coast, so he's selling his penthouse triplex in the really, really tall sliver building at 360 East 88th Street, known as Leighton House. The asking price is $7 million, but you could probably sublet that doll house to recoup some of the cost. [Big Deal/Josh Barbanel]

2) Why did Sting's 88 Central Park West apartment disappear from Linda Stein's website on the day of her murder? As it turns out, the world's most famous lutenist may be having a change of heart about selling his Brentmore duplex and moving to 15 Central Park West, where he's already purchased a $30 million apartmet. The PriceChops probably ain't helping, either. [Braden Keil/Gimme Shelter]

3) The Olsen twins are shedding real estate like pounds. Their massive Morton Square spread made a big splash, and now Ashley Olsen has vacated the Grove Street townhouse duplex she had been renting since 2005. It was on the market for $15,000-per-month, but it now appears to rented. [NYM/S. Jhoana Robledo]

4) Lovable schmuck Zach Braff has closed on legendary Broadway director Tom O'Horgan's 2,500-square-foot apartment at 840 Broadway. He paid $3.2 million for the apartment, which puts him in the same building as penthouse owner Heather Graham and ground-floor tenant Forbidden Planet. [The Real Estate/Max Abelson]

5) See Maggie Gyllenhaal plead poverty for her reason for moving to Brooklyn! See Jeffrey Wright describe how the streets are overrun with hedge fund d-bags! Brooklyn power! [Daily Intel]
