We knew this Tribeca duplex penthouse, with a 1,850-square-foot private rooftop terrace, would have people thinking eight figures. Sneakily, however, the Gerken Building apartment is priced just a shade under that, screwing over all those who guessed $10 million. In what has to be one of the more entertaining recent PriceSpotter threads, topics tackled included CRT vs. flatscreen HDTVs, the quality of the finishes and floorplan, and the "pimpjuice" closet off the master bath. The bidding however, was off. Many went way too high, using tried-and-true methods like $2,500 or $3,000 per square foot. We're in a recession here, people! In fact, there were no legit correct guesses. Better luck next week, chappies.
